On Monday afternoon, Jimmy Nelson (2-5) will attempt to snap his two-game losing streak when he and the Milwaukee Brewers face off against Jacob Turner (4-8) and the Chicago Cubs.

Last Tuesday, Jimmy Nelson gave up four runs (two earned) in his start against the San Diego Padres and ended up suffering his fifth loss of the season. He allowed five hits in that outing and struck out seven batters while walking two. Through nine starts, Nelson now has a 4.10 ERA and he has struck out 45 batters in 52.2 innings on the mound.

Cubs first baseman Anthony Rizzo has no hits in two at-bats against Nelson with one strikeout. None of the Cubs have faced Nelson more than two times.

Last Wednesday, Jacob Turner made his first start for the Cubs and ended up losing to the Cincinnati Reds on the road. He went 3.2 innings in that game and gave up six runs (three earned) on seven base hits while walking two batters and striking out one. On the season, Turner now has a 5.84 ERA and he has given up 116 hits in 86.1 innings.

Brewers outfielder Carlos Gomez has three hits in his 10 at-bats against Turner with a double and a solo home run. Catcher Jonathan Lucroy is just 1-for-8 against him in his career with a walk and a strikeout.
