On Wednesday night, big right-hander Jacob Turner will be getting the start for the Miami Marlins when they face Texas Rangers ace Yu Darvish.

Jacob Turner didn't pitch particularly well in his start against the Tampa Bay Rays last week, but he got some help from his offense, which helped him pick up his second win of the season. Turner went 5.1 innings in that outing and allowed five runs on eight hits while striking out three and walking just one. Turner has had a rough season, giving up 59 hits in 44 innings and striking out only 26 batters.

The only player on the Rangers who Turner has faced is outfielder Alex Rios, who is 2-for-3 against him with a home run and three RBI.

Big right-hander Yu Darvish won for the third game in a row last Friday when he defeated the Cleveland Indians at home. He went seven innings in that game and gave up four runs on nine hits while walking three and striking out eight. Darvish has been very solid for Texas this season by holding hitters to just 63 hits in 76.1 innings of work and striking out 91.

Catcher Jeff Mathis and first baseman Garrett Jones are the only players on the Rangers who have gone up against Darvish in their careers and they are a combined 0-for-5 against him with three strikeouts.
