24-year-old starter Nate Eovaldi will be taking the mound for the Miami Marlins when they face Matt Cain and the San Francisco Giants on Thursday night.

Nate Eovaldi now has five no decisions through eight starts after taking the ND against the San Diego Padres last week. He went five innings in that game and gave up two runs on seven hits while striking out three and walking four. Despite not picking up a lot of wins, he has still been very good this season and currently has a 2.86 ERA.

Hunter Pence has been more productive than any of his Giants' teammates against Eovaldi by going 3-for-7 against him with two doubles, a home run and five RBI. Brandon Crawford is just 2-for-8 against him with a strikeout.

Matt Cain's winless streak continued last Saturday when he ended up picking up a no decision against the Los Angeles Dodgers. The former All-Star could only get through five innings in that outing and gave up two runs on three hits while walking a season-high four batters and striking out four. He has a 4.25 ERA and has been walking batters at a higher rate this season than he did in the past five seasons.

Marlins slugger Giancarlo Stanton has five hits in 17 at-bats versus Cain with thee home runs and five RBI. Garrett Jones is 6-for-19 against him with two home runs.
