On Saturday night, Nate Eovaldi will be looking to continue his hot start to the season when the Miami Marlins Eric Stults and the San Diego Padres.

Nate Eovaldi had a solid start against the New York Mets on Monday and ended up picking up his fourth win of the season. He pitched seven innings in that game and gave up three runs on five hits while striking out a season-high 10 batters and walking just one. Eovaldi has only given up 39 hits in 45.1 innings this year and has a 2.78 ERA.

Outfielder Will Venable has three hits against Eovaldi in eight at-bats, while Seth Smith has a .500 batting average in six at-bats against him with an RBI. Alexi Amarista is the only player on the Padres who has a home run against the right-hander.

34-year-old Eric Stults gave up a season-high 11 hits against the Kansas City Royals in his last start, but he ended up with just the no decision after the Padres were able to come back and win the game. Stults pitched just 4.2 innings in that outing and gave up three runs while striking out two. He is giving up 14 hits per nine innings on the season, which is one of the worst rates in the bigs.

Reed Johnson has five hits in 11 at-bats against Stults with one RBI. Giancarlo Stanton has just one hit against him in four at-bats, but that one hit was a two-run home run.
