Both Henderson Alvarez and Kyle Kendrick will be looking to notch their first wins of the season when the Miami Marlins face the Philadelphia Phillies on Sunday afternoon.

Henderson Alvarez had a better outing in his game against the Washington Nationals than he did in his first start against the Colorado Rockies, but he still ended up getting his second loss of the season. In that start against the Rockies, he ended up surrendering just one earned run, but he did give up six hits and two walks. The 23-year-old, who now has a 4.15 ERA on the season, will be hoping to pick up his first win on Sunday against the Phillies.

Phillies outfielder Marlon Byrd has faced Alvarez three times so far in his career and has two hits, including one double, off of him. Cesar Hernandez is 0-for-4 with a strikeout against the righty.

Kyle Kendrick started off the season with a good start, but his most recent one didn't go quite as well. He took the loss against the Milwaukee Brewers after giving up six runs (four earned) on nine hits in five innings of work. Two of those hits were home runs and he walked two in the game.

Giancarlo Stanton and Greg Dobbs will not be looking forward to facing Kendrick again. The two Marlins are a combined 5-for-34 against him with nine strikeouts.
