On Saturday afternoon, Tom Koehler will attempt to bounce back from his worst outing of the year when he and the Miami Marlins take on veteran starter Daisuke Matsuzaka and the New York Mets.

On Monday, Tom Koehler pitched just three innings against the Arizona Diamondbacks and ended up taking his seventh loss of the season. He gave up seven earned runs on eight hits in that start while walking two batters and striking out two. Koehler now has a 6-7 record on the year with a 3.98 ERA, but he has given up just 7.8 hits per nine innings.

Mets third baseman David Wright has six hits in 17 at-bats versus Koehler with three doubles and four RBI. First baseman Lucas Duda has just two hits against him in 14 at-bats with two strikeouts.

Daisuke Matsuzaka had his best start of 2014 on Monday when he defeated the Atlanta Braves at home. He pitched seven scoreless innings in that outing and gave up just six hits while walking two and striking out three. In 65 innings both as a starter and out of the bullpen, Matsuzaka has only given up 46 hits and has struck out 57 batters.

All-Star Giancarlo Stanton has three hits in 10 at-bats against Matsuzaka and is the only Marlin who has hit a home run off of the right-hander. Catcher Jarrod Saltalamacchia is 5-for-7 against him with three doubles and two RBI.
