The Milwaukee Brewers are still very much in contention for a chance to win the National League Central division and are certainly in the NL Wild Card. The Brewers will look to get more wins when they welcome the Miami Marlins to Miller Park. The Marlins will send veteran right-hander Brad Penny (1-1) to the mound to take on possible free agent, right-hander Yovani Gallardo (8-8).

From here on out, every game for the Brewers is a must-win. With so few games left to close the gap the Cardinals have, they need to win all the games they should. This is one of those games that they are expected to win because of Gallardo. The Mexican national is having the worst season of his career with an 8-8 record, but still has a remarkable 3.43 ERA to go with a 1.30 WHIP and .254 BAA.                 In his career against the current members of the Marlins, he has allowed 22 hits in 96 at-bats with 2 home runs allowed to Rafael Furcal.

The Marlins are still technically alive in the division race and the wild card race in the NL East, but have a lot of work to do. In Penny, they have a veteran who is making just his 4th start of the season and 6th overall appearance. Things haven’t been good for him in limited play this season, allowing 12 earned runs of 22 hits in 16.1 innings. He has just 9 strikeouts and 10 walks.
