On Thursday, Nathan Eovaldi (6-10) will try to pick up his first win since August 8 when he and the Miami Marlins face off against Mike Fiers (5-2) and the Milwaukee Brewers.

Last Saturday, Nathan Eovaldi had a decent start against the Atlanta Braves at home and finished with a no decision. He gave up three earned runs in 6.1 innings of work that day while walking one batter and striking out seven. Eovaldi has a 4.19 ERA this year and he has given up 9.8 hits per nine innings.

Brewers outfielder Ryan Braun is 4-for-10 against Eovaldi in his career with two doubles, one home run and four RBI. Veteran Gerardo Parra is just 2-for-11 against him with a walk and three strikeouts.

Mike Fiers made his 10th start of the season for the Brewers last week and ended up beating the St. Louis Cardinals at home. He went 6.2 innings in that start and gave up just two runs on seven base hits while striking out five batters and walking one. Fiers now has a solid 2.03 ERA on the season and he has only given up 30 hits in 48.2 innings of work.

Marlins first baseman Garrett Jones has hit a home run off of Fiers in his career, but that is his only hit off of him in 10 at-bats. Casey McGehee is 1-for-1 against him with a walk and a double.
