Turner Field will be the home to a showdown between two teams from the National League West. The Atlanta Braves will host the Miami Marlins, with the Braves being led by right-hander Ervin Santana (13-7), while the Marlins will be led on the hill by right-hander Tom Koehler (9-9). With close to a month left in the season, every win, especially those against a division rival become that much more important.

The Braves have had an up-and-down season and will look to Santana to lead them to victory in this tough divisional matchup. The Braves signed Santana during Spring Training after injuries derailed the seasons of Brandon Beachy and Kris Medlen. He has pitched exceptionally well for the Braves, recording 148 strikeouts in 162.1 innings. He has been incredible for Atlanta in August, going 3-0 with a 1.95 ERA, allowing just six earned runs on 22 hits in 27.2 innings. Offensively, the Braves will be led by Freddie Freeman, Justin Upton, and Jason Heyward.

Miami is currently 10 games behind the first place Washington Nationals and is 2.5 games behind the Braves for second place. Koehler has pitched well this season and even better than his .500 record will show. He has recorded 120 strikeouts in 155.1 innings and he has pitched even better in August, going 2-2 with a 2.97 ERA with 20 strikeouts in 30.1 innings. Offensively, the Marlins will rely on stars like Giancarlo Stanton, Marcell Ozuna, and Garrett Jones.
