Los Angeles Dodgers veteran starter Josh Beckett will take on two-time Cy Young award winner Tim Lincecum and the San Francisco Giants on Tuesday night.

Josh Beckett came back from an injured ankle to make his first start for the Dodgers against the Detroit Tigers last week. It didn't go very well, but he didn't end up taking the loss. He did strike out five batters over his four innings of work, but he also gave up five runs to give him a 9.00 ERA to start the season.

Hunter Pence has faced Beckett more than any other current Giants' player and has done quite well in his at-bats. The outfielder has seven hits and two RBI in 17 plate appearances, with one of those hits coming via the long ball.

Tim Lincecum had a rough outing his last time on the mound when the Arizona Diamondbacks were able to get seven earned runs off of him in just four innings. Two of those hits were home runs, so Lincecum is going to need to keep his pitches down if he wants to have any success against the Dodgers' stacked lineup.

Lincecum has faced Dodgers first baseman Adrian Gonzalez 57 times in his career and has held him to just a .212/.263/.212 batting line and zero home runs. Hanley Ramirez is one of the Dodgers who has had some success against the righty, getting six hits and four RBI in 19 career at-bats.
