On Sunday afternoon, Clayton Kershaw (18-3) will go for his fifth consecutive win when he and the Los Angeles Dodgers face off against Yusmeiro Petit (5-3) and the San Francisco Giants.

Cy Young favorite Clayton Kershaw picked up yet another win last week when he was able to beat the San Diego Padres at home. He pitched eight solid innings in that start and gave up three runs (one earned) on three base hits while striking out eight batters and walking two. Kershaw's 1.67 ERA currently leads the league and he has struck out 10.7 batters per nine innings.

Giants catcher Buster Posey is the only player on his team who has hit a home run off of Kershaw, but he is just 10-for-52 overall against the left-hander. Angel Pagan is 11-for-35 against him with three doubles.

Yusmeiro Petit pitched his first complete game of the season on Tuesday when he beat the Arizona Diamondbacks at home. He gave up just one run in those nine innings of work while walking no one and striking out nine. Petit has struck out 110 batters in 99.1 innings this year and he now has a 3.62 ERA.

Dodgers shortstop Hanley Ramirez is 2-for-4 against Petit in his career with a double and a solo home run. Veteran Juan Uribe is 0-for-4 against him with a walk and two strikeouts.
