Hyun-Jin Ryu (14-6), who has a 2.16 ERA in his last five outings, will make the start for the Los Angeles Dodgers when they face Madison Bumgarner (17-9) and the San Francisco Giants on Friday night.

Last Saturday, Hyun-Jin Ryu pitched pretty well against the Arizona Diamondbacks, but all he could get out of that outing was a no decision. Ryu pitched 6.2 innings in that start and gave up two runs on seven hits while walking on batter and striking out nine. He has only given up a total of eight home runs on 151 innings this season and now has a 3.16 ERA.

Giants catcher Buster Posey is 5-for-21 against Ryu in his career with two doubles, a home run and three strikeouts. Outfielder Hunter Pence is 9-for-21 against him with two doubles and six RBI.

Big left-hander Madison Bumgarner picked up his fourth win in a row on Saturday when he beat the Detroit Tigers on the road. He went six innings in that start and allowed three runs on 10 hits while striking out no one and walking no one. Bumgarner now has a 3.02 ERA and he has been able to strike out 9.1 hitters per nine innings this season.

Dodgers veteran Juan Uribe is 7-for-24 against Bumgarner in his career with a double, a home run and three RBI. First baseman Adrian Gonzalez is just 4-for-29 against the left-hander with no walks and six strikeouts.
