On Sunday night, Hyun-Jin Ryu will be going for his 12th win of the season when he and the Los Angeles Dodgers face Yusmeiro Petit and the San Francisco Giants.

Hyun-Jin Ryu won his second consecutive game last Monday when he was able to defeat the Pittsburgh Pirates on the road. He pitched seven innings in that outing and gave up just two runs on five hits while striking out five batters and walking one. Ryu now has an 11-5 record through 19 starts and he has only given up seven home runs in 111.2 innings this season.

Giants outfielder Hunter Pence has eight hits in his 12 at-bats against Ryu with two doubles and five RBI. Brandon Crawford is hitless against him with one walk and two strikeouts.

Veteran Yusmeiro Petit made a start against the Philadelphia Phillies last Tuesday and ended up getting the no decision despite not pitching very well in the game. In five innings of work that day, he allowed five runs on seven hits while walking two batters and striking out five. Petit has a 4.24 ERA this year, but he has also been able to strike out 71 batters in 68 innings on the mound.

Dodgers shortstop Hanley Ramirez has two hits in his four at-bats versus Petit with a double and a solo home run. Outfielder Matt Kemp also has hit a home run off of him, but he is just 4-for-16 overall against the right-hander.
