Los Angeles Dodgers starter Josh Beckett will look to keep his hot start to the season going on Saturday night when he faces off against Tyson Ross and the San Diego Padres.

Veteran right-hander Josh Beckett lost for the fourth time this season when he was defeated by the Arizona Diamondbacks on Sunday. He went seven innings in that game and gave up three earned runs on five hits while striking out six and walking no one. On the season, Beckett is 4-4 with a fantastic 2.49 ERA and he has only given up 58 hits in 79.2 innings.

Will Venable is 1-for-3 against Beckett in his career and is the only player on the Padres who has been able to hit a home run off of him. Yonder Alonso is 2-for-5 against him with a double and no strikeouts.

On Monday, Tyson Ross had one of his worst starts of the season when the Seattle Mariners were able to score five runs against him in 5.2 innings of work. He gave up seven hits in that outing while striking out six and walking a season-high seven batters. Ross has been pretty good this season despite that loss, going 6-6 through 15 starts with a 3.27 ERA.

Dodgers outfielder Yasiel Puig has two hits against Ross in five at-bats, including one home run. First baseman Adrian Gonzalez is 4-for-9 against him with a double and two RBI.
