On Friday night, Dan Haren will be going for his third consecutive win for the Los Angeles Dodgers and will have to beat Ian Kennedy and the San Diego Padres.

Veteran Dan Haren won his second consecutive game last Saturday by defeating the Arizona Diamondbacks at home. He went 6.1 innings in that start and allowed three runs on eight hits while striking out two and walking no one. Haren has had a nice bounce back season this year so far by going 7-4 through 14 starts with a solid 3.54 ERA.

Will Venable has struggled against Haren in his career, going 1-for-15 against him with a home run and six strikeouts. Third baseman Chase Headley is 10-for-35 against him with two doubles, a home run and 10 strikeouts.

Right-hander Ian Kennedy lost his second straight start and his eighth loss overall on Sunday against the New York Mets on the road. He gave up three runs in 5.1 innings of work in that game while striking out seven and walking four. Kennedy is just 5-8 this season, but he also has a pretty good 3.72 ERA and 98 strikeouts in 92 innings of work.

Dodgers outfielder Andre Ethier is 10-for-30 against Kennedy in his career with two doubles, two home runs and five RBI. Hanley Ramirez is just 2-for-16 against him with no RBI and two strikeouts.
