On Sunday, Hyun-Jin Ryu (13-6), who is 1-1 with a 2.29 ERA in August, will make the start for the Los Angeles Dodgers when they go up against Eric Stults (6-14) and the San Diego Padres.

Left-hander Hyun-Jin Ryu last pitched back on August 13, when he ended up losing to the Atlanta Braves on the road. He went 5.2 innings in that game and allowed three runs on six base hits while walking two batters and striking out seven. Ryu now has a 3.28 ERA on the season and has only given up eight home runs in 137.1 innings of work.

Padres first baseman Tommy Medica has two hits in five at-bats against Ryu with a double and a walk. Rene Rivera is 0-for-7 against him with no walks and two strikeouts.

Eric Stults picked up his 14th loss of the season last week when he was beaten by the Milwaukee Brewers at home. He went five innings in that game and allowed four runs on nine hits while walking three batters and striking out three. Stults now has a 4.63 ERA on the year and he has only struck out 89 hitters in 140 innings.

Dodgers second baseman Darwin Barney has six hits in 16 at-bats against Stults in his career with four doubles and a home run. Outfielder Andre Ethier is just 2-for-15 against him with a home run and two strikeouts.
