Right-hander Zack Greinke (13-8), who is just 1-2 in four starts this month, will make the start for the Los Angeles Dodgers when they face Ian Kennedy (10-11) and the San Diego Padres on Saturday night.

Zack Greinke pitched seven decent innings last Saturday and was able to pick up the win over the New York Mets. He gave up four runs (three earned) in seven innings that day while walking one batter and striking out four. Greinke currently has a 2.79 ERA on the season and has now struck out 174 batters in 164.1 innings on the mound.

Padres outfielder Seth Smith is 6-for-15 against Greinke in his career with three doubles and a solo home run. Will Venable is just 2-for-15 against him with a walk and eight strikeouts.

Veteran Ian Kennedy was able to win his 10th game of the year on Sunday when he beat the Arizona Diamondbacks on the road. He pitched 5.2 innings in that start and allowed three runs on eight hits while walking three batters and striking out six. Kennedy now has a 3.75 ERA on the season and he has struck out 9.6 batters per nine innings.

Dodgers catcher A.J. Ellis has just three hits in 19 at-bats versus Kennedy with two walks and five strikeouts. Andre Ethier is 11-for-34 against him in his career with two doubles, two home runs and five RBI.
