Zack Greinke will be going for his eighth win of the season when the Los Angeles Dodgers take on Jonathon Niese and the New York Mets on Thursday.

Former Cy Young award winner Zack Greinke was able to put together his best start of the season last Friday against the Arizona Diamondbacks and picked up his seventh win of the season. He pitched eight shutout innings in that outing and gave up just five hits while striking out six and walking two. The right-hander now has a 7-1 record with a 2.02 ERA on the year.

Mets outfielder Curtis Granderson does have a double, two triples and a home run against Greinke, but he has hit just .179 against him with 10 strikeouts through 39 at-bats. Bobby Abreu is 7-for-31 against him with eight strikeouts.

Jonathon Niese lost for the third time this season when he was beaten by the Washington Nationals last week on the road. He could only make it through four innings in that game and he gave up five runs (three earned) on eight hits while walking two and striking out two. He still has an excellent 2.54 ERA on the season and he's given up just three home runs through 49.2 innings.

Hanley Ramirez has just four hits in 17 at-bats against Niese, while veteran Juan Uribe is hitless in 11 at-bats against him.
