Tuesday night,   Zack Greinke will take the hill for the Los Angeles Dodgers as they take on Kyle Gibson and the Minnesota Twins.  Greinke will make his 6th start as Gibson makes his 5th. 

Zach Greinke improved his record to 4 – 0 with a 2.45 ERA after his last start where he went 7 innings and allowed 2 runs on 5 hits (including a home run) with a walk and 11 strikeouts.  Greinke seems to be picking up where he left off in 2013 when he went 15 – 4 with an ERA of 2.63 in 28 starts.  

Last season, Greinke didn’t face the Twins but he has seen many of the Minnesota hitters before.  Minnesota’s Joe Mauer is a .340 hitter against Greinke with 8 RBIs when facing the right-hander.

Kyle Gibson comes into this one after his last start was rained out.  He got his first loss of the season after a rough 3 inning start where he gave up 7 runs on 10 hits with 2 walks and 3 strikeouts.  The loss dropped Gibson to 3 – 1 with an ERA of 3.63.  In 2013, Gibson was 2 – 4 with a 6.53 ERA in 10 starts during his rookie season.  

Last season, Gibson didn’t face the Dodgers and he has no experience against anyone on the Los Angeles roster.  He’s been pitching well and with help from the scouting report and the rest of the pitching staff, he should do just fine.
