On Friday night, Josh Beckett (6-6) will attempt to win his first game in nearly a month when the Los Angeles Dodgers go up against Kyle Lohse (11-6) and the Milwaukee Brewers.

On Sunday, Josh Beckett could only make it through four innings against the Chicago Cubs and ended up suffering his sixth loss of the season. He allowed three runs on six hits in that game and struck out six batters while walking three. He still has a very good 2.88 ERA on the year and he has only given up 96 hits in 115.2 innings.

Brewers first baseman Mark Reynolds has just four hits in 17 at-bats against Beckett, but he has also hit three home runs off of him. Ryan Braun is 3-for-6 against the right-hander with three home runs and four RBI.

Veteran Kyle Lohse lost his second game in a row last Saturday when he was beaten by the St. Louis Cardinals on the road. He went four innings in that game and allowed a season-high nine runs on nine base hits while walking three batters and striking out two. He still has a solid 3.40 ERA on the year and he has only walked three batters in 150.2 innings.

Dodgers first baseman Adrian Gonzalez has eight hits in 24 at-bats against Lohse in his career with four doubles, a home run and three RBI.
