On Tuesday night, Clayton Kershaw will try to win his fifth game in a row when the Los Angeles Dodgers face lefty Danny Duffy and the Kansas City Royals.

Against the Colorado Rockies last Wednesday, Clayton Kershaw had one of the best pitching performances in Major League history when he picked up his first career no-hitter. One error kept him from being able to nail down the perfect game, but he did strike out 15 batters without walking anyone. Through 10 starts, Kershaw is 7-2 with a very solid 2.52 ERA and he has 86 strikeouts in 64.1 innings of work.

Royals outfielder Justin Maxwell has no hits in his seven at-bats against Kershaw and he has been struck out five times. Veteran Omar Infante is 2-for-9 against him with a walk and a strikeout.

25-year-old starter Danny Duffy lost his sixth game of the season on Thursday when he was defeated by the Detroit Tigers on the road. He pitched seven innings in that outing and allowed just two runs on three hits while walking one and striking out five. Duffy has been very good for the Royals this year with a 2.80 ERA and just five home runs given up in 61 innings.

Dodgers first baseman Adrian Gonzalez is one of only two players on his team who has faced Duffy, and he is 2-for-5 against him with a double, three walks and an RBI.
