Former Cy Young award winner Zack Greinke will be going for his tenth win of the season when the Los Angeles Dodgers face four-game winner Jeremy Guthrie and the Kansas City Royals on Monday night.

Right-hander Zack Greinke picked up his ninth win of the year last Tuesday when he was able to defeat the Colorado Rockies at home. We pitched six innings in that start and allowed just one run on six hits while walking two and striking out five. Greinke is now 9-3 this season with a very good 2.57 ERA and he has been able to strike out 97 hitters in 91 innings of work.

Veteran Omar Infante has faced Greinke more than any of the other Royals, but he is just 5-for-27 against him with three strikeouts. Alex Gordon has three hits in seven at-bats against Greinke with a home run and no strikeouts.

On Wednesday, Jeremy Guthrie won for the fourth time this year when he was able to beat the Detroit Tigers on the road. He allowed just one run on four hits in 6.2 innings of work in that game while striking out a season-high nine batters and walking just one. Guthrie is just 4-6 this season, but he does have a decent 3.86 ERA.

Dodgers first baseman Adrian Gonzalez is 4-for-13 against Guthrie in his career with two doubles and one RBI.
