On Friday night, 23-year-old rookie Eddie Butler will be making his Major League debut for the Colorado Rockies and will have to face Hyun-Jin Ryu and the Los Angeles Dodgers.

Hyun-Jin Ryu picked up his third win in a row last weekend against the Pittsburgh Pirates by going six innings against them and allowing just two runs. He did give up 10 hits in that start, but he didn't walk anyone and he struck out four Pirates. Ryu has had a solid season for the Dodgers so far this year with his 6-2 record and his 3.09 ERA. The most impressive thing about Ryu this season is that he has only given up two home runs in 58.1 innings.

Power-hitting outfielder Charlie Blackmon has gotten a hit in all four of his at-bats against Ryu with a double and a walk.

Right-hander Eddie Butler came into the season as Baseball America's No. 24 prospect and he has more than lived up to those expectations in the minors this year. He may have only had a 4-4 record in 11 starts in Double-A for the Rockies, but the rest of his numbers were fantastic. In 68.2 innings of work, he had a 2.49 ERA and a 1.180 WHIP while walking just 19 and striking out 40. He has only given up 13 home runs in 286 innings in his career.
