The Dodgers and Diamondbacks meet on American soil after unofficially kicking off the season with a 2-game set in Sydney, Australia on March 22nd. Zack Greinke (2-0) didn't make the trip down under but will look to continue his dominant start to the year against Arizona and the resurgent Wade Miley (2-1). Greinke has earned the victory in his first two starts allowing 2 runs in each game while allowing 2 hits and 6 hits. For 2014 Greinke has pitched just 11 innings but has struck out 13 and has also given up 3 HR already in compiling a 3.27 ERA.

Greinke contained the Diamondbacks in 2013, going 2-0 in his 3 starts and maintaining an ERA of 1.80. Over 20 IP Greinke has allowed just 4 ER on only 4 hits. The current D'Back roster has a collective batting average of just .203 against Greinke in 123 plate appearances.

Miley has rebounded nicely after a season-opening loss to the Dodgers by winning his last two starts. The 27-year-old lefty has been the beneficiary of run support over his last two with Arizona beating the Giants 5-4 on April 1st and overcoming the Rockies 5-3 on April 8th. In his last 15 IP Miley has allowed 13 hits and 6 ER.

The Diamondbacks' offensive output was a contradiction to Miley's first start of the year against the Dodgers in which Arizona went down 1-3. Miley allowed all 3 runs over 5 IP but also struck out 8. It was a disappointing loss for Miley who was 1-0 in 3 starts against the Dodgers last year and has held their current lineup to a .269 batting average in 108 AB's.
