Right-hander Matt Shoemaker (10-4) will be getting the start for the Los Angeles Angels when they face Colby Lewis (8-9) and the Texas Rangers on Saturday night.

Matt Shoemaker last made a start for the Angels on August 6, when he was beaten by the Los Angeles Dodgers at home. He pitched six innings in that game and allowed two runs on six hits while walking two batters and striking out five. He now has a 3.89 ERA on the season and he has struck out 87 batters in 90.1 innings.

Rangers outfielder Leonys Martin has three hits in his four at-bats against Shoemaker with two doubles and no strikeouts. Shin-Soo Choo is 0-for-3 against him with no walks and two strikeouts.

Colby Lewis gave up five runs (two earned) to the Tampa Bay Rays on Monday and ended up losing for the ninth time this season. He allowed five hits in that start and struck out two batters while walking four. He now has a 5.42 ERA on the year and he has given up a whopping 154 hits in 116.1 innings of work this season.

Angels outfielder Brennan Boesch has five hits in 18 at-bats versus Lewis in his career with three home runs and five RBI. Veteran Erick Aybar has just two hits in 12 at-bats against him with a walk and a strikeout.
