Los Angeles Angels starter Jered Weaver (11-6) will attempt to extend his undefeated streak to nine games on Sunday afternoon when he faces Jake Odorizzi (7-8) and the Tampa Bay Rays.

Jered Weaver had one of his worst starts of the year on Tuesday against the Baltimore Orioles, but he took a no decision rather than a loss in that outing. He allowed six runs on seven hits in his five innings of work that day, while walking four and striking out four. Weaver currently has a 3.62 ERA on the year and he has only given up 7.8 hits per nine innings.

Rays veteran Ben Zobrist has six hits in his 18 at-bats versus Weaver with two doubles, a triple and a home run. Outfielder Matthew Joyce is just 2-for-15 against him with a walk and five strikeouts.

Jake Odorizzi was able to win his third game in a row on Monday when he defeated the Milwaukee Brewers at home. He allowed just one run in seven innings of work that day while walking no one and striking out five. On the season, he now has a 3.80 ERA and he has struck out 129 batters in 113.2 innings.

None of the Rays have faced Odorizzi more than two times in their careers. Catcher Hank Conger is 1-for-1 against him with a walk and a double.
