Cory Rasmus (3-1) will attempt to pick up his first win since August 20 when he and the Los Angeles Angels take on second-year starter James Paxton (6-4) and the Seattle Mariners on Saturday night.

Right-hander Cory Rasmus picked up his fifth no decision in a row on Sunday after pitching four scoreless innings against the Texas Rangers. He gave up just two hits in that game and struck out three batters while walking only one. Rasmus has a 2.38 ERA this year and he has struck out 9.2 batters per nine innings.

Mariners third baseman Kyle Seager is just 1-for-5 against Rasmus in his career with a walk, a single and one strikeout. Combined, the Mariners hitters who have faced Rasmus are just 4-for-29 against him.

On Monday, James Paxton lost his second game in a row when he was beaten by the Toronto Blue Jays on the road. He only made it through 2.2 innings in that outing and gave up nine runs (eight earned) on seven base hits while walking a season-high six batters while only striking out one. Paxton has a 3.03 ERA this year and he has only given up three home runs in 68.1 innings.

Angels third baseman David Freese has three hits in his nine at-bats against Paxton with a walk and a solo home run. Second baseman Howie Kendrick is just 1-for-8 against him in his career with no walks and three strikeouts.
