Jered Weaver will be going for his third consecutive win on Sunday when the Los Angeles Angels take on Sonny Gray and the Oakland Athletics.

Last Tuesday, Jered Weaver picked up his sixth win of the season when he pitched six strong innings against the Seattle Mariners. He allowed three runs on seven hits in that outing and struck out five batters while walking three. Weaver has a 2.99 ERA on the season now and has given up just 54 hits in 72.1 innings of work.

Outfielder Coco Crisp has faced Weaver more than any of his teammates, but he is just 8-for-50 against the veteran right-hander with two doubles and 10 strikeouts. None of the current Athletics have hit a homer off of Weaver despite having a combined 160 at-bats against him.

Sonny Gray remained 5-1 on the season after picking up the no decision against the Detroit Tigers last week. He went six innings in that start and allowed four earned runs on eight hits while walking on and striking out five. He still has an excellent 2.31 ERA on the year and has only given up five home runs on 74 innings on the mound.

Mike Trout is the only Angels' player who has hit a home run off of Gray, but he is just 1-for-4 overall with two strikeouts against the young right-hander.
