In a game between two veteran left-handers, C.J. Wilson (10-8) and the Los Angeles Angels will be taking on Jon Lester (13-8) and the Oakland Athletics on Saturday night.

C.J. Wilson gave up just one run in 5.1 innings against the Boston Red Sox on Monday and came away with the win. He allowed five base hits in that game and walked five batters while striking out five. Wilson now has a 4.59 ERA on the season and he has walked 4.1 batters per nine innings, which is his highest walk rate since 2010.

A's outfielder Sam Fuld has three hits in seven plate appearances against Wilson with no strikeouts and two RBI. Infielder Alberto Callaspo is just 4-for-23 against him in his career with a walk and two strikeouts.

Lefty Jon Lester lost his first game as a member of the A's on Sunday when he was beaten by the Atlanta Braves on the road. He allowed four runs (three earned) in six innings of work that day while walking one batter and striking out five. Lester still has a very good 2.58 ERA on the year and he has struck out 174 batters in 170.2 innings.

Angels outfielder Josh Hamilton has seven hits in 24 at-bats against Lester in his career with a home run and three RBI. Erick Aybar is just 3-for-14 against him with three walks and a strikeout.
