Target Field, the home of the Minnesota Twins, will see one of the best teams in Major League Baseball this season when the Los Angeles Angels come to town for a series. The American League West leading Angels will send right-hander Cory Rasmus (3-1) to the mound for the start, while the home team will counter with right-hander Phil Hughes (15-9).

Rasmus, the former member of the Atlanta Braves organization, will make just his second career start and his 26^th overall appearance of the season. Having spent most of his time in the bullpen this season, Rasmus doesn't have a lot of innings under his belt, which could be beneficial for this team as it gets into the final stretch. He has a 1.10 WHIP and 2.48 ERA. More than anything, the Angels may just be hoping to get a handful of innings out of Rasmus in this start. He has limited experience against the Twins, allowing 3 hits in 9 at-bats.

The Twins have been a disappointing team this season, but one of their biggest bright spots has been Hughes, the former New York Yankee. He is near the top of the AL in wins and has a respectable 3.54 ERA, and 157 strikeouts in 180.2 innings. The most important stat that can put out there to show how good Hughes has been is the fact that he has given up just 15 walks, helping to keep his WHIP down at 1.15.
