C.J. Wilson (0-1) looks to put his horrible start to 2014 behind him against the Astros while Houston youngster Jarred Cosart (1-0) aims to build on his successful debut as a full-time starter. Wilson was made the fool in his April 1st start against the Mariners. Seattle SS Brad Miller hit 2 home runs against Wilson helping to knock him out in the 6th inning after allowing 6 ER for a 9.53 ERA to start the season.

Wilson enjoyed a modest season against Houston in 2013, going 2-2 in two starts with just a 2.03 ERA. Wilson would've likely had a better record against the Astros had it not been for unearned runs as only 6 of the 12 allowed were credited to the lefty. Wilson allowed 1, 2, 3, and 1 run in his starts against Houston last year while holding the current Astros to a .209 average in 67 AB.

23-year-old Jarred Cosart shut down the Yankees in his 2014 debut, pitching 5 innings without allowing a run in a 3-1 Astros victory. Cosart threw 88 pitches in the contest and struck out 3 while giving up 4 hits.

It was a great start to Cosart's role as a full-time starter after being called up last July. In 10 starts the youngster went 1-1 but allowed just 13 ER over 60 innings to post a 1.95 ERA. The only Angel to ever bat against Cosart is Raul Ibanez who went 0-2 while with the Mariners last year.
