Veteran right-hander Jered Weaver (15-7) will go for his third win in a row when he and the Los Angeles Angels face Collin McHugh (7-9) and the Houston Astros on Wednesday night.

Jered Weaver pitched seven scoreless innings against the Oakland Athletics last week and was able to pick up the win. He allowed just three hits in that outing while striking out three batters and walking three. He lowered his ERA to 3.57 with that win and he has only given up 164 hits in 181.1 innings this year.

Astros first baseman Jesus Guzman is 2-for-7 against Weaver in his career with two walks and a solo home run. Designated hitter Chris Carter is 0-for-7 against him with no walks and three strikeouts.

Last week, Collin McHugh pitched seven strong innings against the Texas Rangers at home and picked up the win. He gave up two runs on eight hits in that start and struck out six without walking a batter. McHugh lowered his ERA to a very strong 2.99 and he has been able to strike out 9.4 batters per nine innings this season.

Angels first baseman has three hits in seven at-bats against McHugh in his career and is the only Los Angeles player who has hit a home run off of him. David Freese is just 1-for-8 against him with no walks and two strikeouts.
