Monday night, Jered Weaver takes the hill for the Los Angeles Angels as they square off against Trevor Bauer and the Cleveland Indians. Weaver makes his 15th start as Bauer makes his 7th.

Jered Weaver dropped his last start and that took his record to 7 – 5 with an ERA of 3.51.  In that last outing, Weaver pitched 5.1 innings and gave up 4 runs on 6 hits (including a homer) while walking 2 and striking out 5.  It was the 6th straight start that Weaver had surrendered the long ball.  But he still has a chance to improve on last season when he went 11 – 8 with a 3.27 ERA in 24 starts.

In 2013, Weaver was 1 – 1 with an ERA of 4.15 in 2 starts against the Indians. This season, Weaver picked up a win against the Tribe after holding them to 2 runs and 8 hits (including a home run) in 5.1 innings.

Trevor Bauer saw his record drop to 1 – 3 with a 4.24 ERA after taking the loss his last time out.  In that outing, Bauer pitched 5.1 innings and gave up 3 runs on 7 hits as he walked a batter and struck out 1.  Bauer has already matched his results from last season when he went 1 – 2 with a 5.29 ERA in 4 starts.

In 2013, Bauer didn’t face the Angels and he has never faced him in his young career. The scouting report could point him in the right direction as he looks for a way to beat Los Angeles.
