Tuesday night, Jered Weaver (13 – 7, 3.66 ERA) takes the hill for the Los Angeles Angels as they take on Allen Webster (3 – 1, 4.79 ERA) and the Boston Red Sox.  Weaver takes his 27th trip to the mound as Webster takes his 5th.

Jered Weaver earned the victory in his last start after holding the opposition to 2 runs and 8 hits in 6 innings of work.  He walked 2 batters and struck out 5. Weaver seems to alternate good performances with bad ones but he has found a way to still get results.  He is 6 – 1 in his last 10 starts.  In 2013, Weaver compiled a record of 11 – 8 with an ERA of 3.27 in 24 starts.  

Last season, Weaver won his only start against the Red Sox after throwing 6.2 innings of shutout ball.  Less than 2 weeks ago, Weaver took a loss against Boston after he allowed 4 runs and 7 hits (including a home run) in 6 innings.

Allen Webster added his 2nd straight win in his last outing.  In the victory, Webster gave up 4 runs and 5 hits (including a homer) in 6 innings.  He walked 3 while striking out just 2.  Webster has only pitched one bad game and his record reflects that.  Before getting the call to the Majors, Webster was 4 - 4 with a 3.10 ERA in 20 starts and a relief appearance at Triple-A Pawtucket.

Webster only has 4 starts but one of them was against the Angels.  He got the victory in his 3rd start after holding Los Angeles to 2 runs and 4 hits in 6.2 innings.
