On Wednesday night, right-hander Garrett Richards (11-3) will get the start for the Los Angeles Angels when they face 23-year-old Kevin Gausman (4-3) and the Baltimore Orioles.

In his last start, Garrett Richards lost for the first time since May when he was beaten by the Detroit Tigers at home. The right-hander pitched six innings in that game and allowed four runs on seven hits while striking out five batters and walking two. He still has a fantastic 2.62 ERA on the year and he has only given up 98 hits in 137.1 innings.

Orioles infielder Ryan Flaherty is 3-for-4 against Richards in his career with a walk, a home run and three RBI. Shortstop J.J. Hardy has just one hit in five at-bats against Richards with a walk.

Second-year starter Kevin Gausman pitched well against the Seattle Mariners on the road last week, but he has to settle for a no decision. He went 6.2 innings in that game and allowed one run on seven hits while walking three and striking out three. On the year, Gausman has a 3.67 ERA and he has only given up two home runs on 49 innings of work.

On Wednesday, the Angels' hitters will get to go up against Gausman for the first time. So far this season, he has held the right-handed hitters he has faced to a .672 OPS through 68 at-bats.
