Sunday afternoon, the Kansas City Royals will take the field behind Jeremy Guthrie as they square off against the Toronto Blue Jays and Mark Buehrle. Both pitchers will be making their 12th starts of the season.

Jeremy Guthrie’s record fell to 2 – 4 with a 4.14 ERA after taking the loss in his last start.  Guthrie was solid in the outing, allowing 1 run on 7 hits in 6 innings of work. In 2013, Buehrle won his only start against the Royals after pitching 7 innings of shutout ball and allowing just 4 hits and a walk while striking out 5.  This season, Buehrle already has a win over Kansas City after giving up 3 runs on 7 hits in 6.2 innings of work.
