Kansas City Royals starter Yordano Ventura will be going for his seventh win of the year on Wednesday night when he goes up against Alex Cobb and the Tampa Bay Rays.

In his start against the Cleveland Indians last week, Yordano Ventura pitched 8.1 strong innings and ended up winning his sixth game of the season. He gave up just one run on six base hits in that start and struck out four batters while walking two. Ventura has 80 strikeouts in 96.2 innings this season and has only given up eight home runs.

Veteran infielder Ben Zobrist is 1-for-2 with a double against Ventura and is the only player on the Rays who has been able to get a hit off of the right-hander.

Alex Cobb only made it through five innings in his outing against the Detroit Tigers on the road last week, but he got some help from his offense and came away with his fourth win of the season. In those five innings, Cobb gave up three earned runs on five hits while striking out five hitters and walking two. He is now 4-6 on the year with a 4.28 ERA and he has struck out 61 batters in 69.1 innings.

Royals first baseman Eric Hosmer has four hits in 12 at-bats against Cobb with a double, a home run and three RBI. Billy Butler has just two hits in his 11 at-bats against Cobb.
