23-year-old Yordano Ventura will be looking to continue his excellent start to the season when he takes the mound for the Kansas City Royals against Chris Young and the Seattle Mariners.

Yordano Ventura had a good start against the San Diego Padres in his last outing, but he came away with the no decision in a game the Royals eventually lost. He pitched six innings in that start and gave up three runs on five hits while striking out a season-best 10 hitters and walked none. Ventura now has an even 2.00 ERA and has given up just 26 hits in 36 innings while striking out 41.

No one on the Mariners has gotten a hit off of Ventura yet. In fact, collectively they are 0-for-10 with two walks and four strikeouts.

Chris Young was able to improve his record to 2-0 last Monday when he beat the Oakland Athletics. He pitched six strong innings in the game and gave up two runs on just three hits while walking two and striking out two. The 34-year-old now has a 3.03 ERA on the season and is giving up just 6.4 hits per nine innings.

Surprisingly, Young hasn't faced any of the Royals more than three times in his career. Nori Aoki has done well in his three plate appearances against the veteran by going 2-for-3 with two RBI.
