On Friday night, Jeremy Guthrie will be on the mound for the Kansas City Royals in Game 3 of the World Series when they take on Tim Hudson and the San Francisco Giants.

Jeremy Guthrie made the first postseason start of his career last week against the Baltimore Orioles in Game 3 of the ALCS. In that outing, he went five innings and only gave up one run on three hits while walking two batters and striking out two.

The Giants didn't have a chance to face Guthrie during the regular season this year, so they will be at a slight disadvantage going into the game. Veteran Michael Morse has faced the right-hander eight times in his career and has three singles with no strikeouts. Shortstop Brandon Crawford is 4-for-4 against him in his career with a solo home run.

Last week, Tim Hudson made his second start of the postseason when he faced the St. Louis Cardinals in Game 3 of the NLCS. He took the no decision in that game after giving up four runs in 6.1 innings of work. In two starts in these playoffs, he is 0-0 with a 3.29 ERA.

Hudson made one start against the Royals this season and took the loss after giving up three runs in six innings on the mound. Josh Willingham may not be in the Royals' lineup when they face Hudson as he is only 2-for-23 against him in his career with eight strikeouts.
