On Sunday afternoon, Jeremy Guthrie (8-10) will attempt to win his fourth game in six starts when the Kansas City Royals take on Tommy Milone (6-3) and the Minnesota Twins.

Last Tuesday, Jeremy Guthrie pitched 4.2 innings against the Oakland Athletics at home and ended up picking up his 10th loss of the season. He allowed six runs (four earned) on 11 base hits that day and walked no one while striking out four batters. He currently owns a 4.45 ERA on the season and has given up 166 hits in 151.2 innings of work.

Twins first baseman Joe Mauer has eight hits in his 24 at-bats against Guthrie with two home runs and three RBI. Infielder Brian Dozier is just 2-for-12 against him with two RBI and two strikeouts.

Tommy Milone pitched well in his first start for the Twins last week against the Houston Astros and ended up with a no decision. He pitched six innings in that outing and allowed two runs on eight base hits while walking three and striking out five. He now has a 3.52 ERA on the year and has only walked 29 batters in 102.1 innings on the mound.

Royals designated hitter Billy Butler has five hits in 13 at-bats against Milone with an RBI and one strikeout. Shortstop Alcides Escobar has just two hits in 13 at-bats against him with no walks and four strikeouts.
