Tuesday night, Yordano Ventura (13 - 10, 3.19 ERA) gets the call for the Kansas City Royals as they take on Danny Salazar (6 -7, 4.02 ERA) and the Cleveland Indians.  It will be the 29th start and 30th appearance for Ventura and the 20th start for Salazar.

Danny Salazar pitched to his 2nd straight no-decision in his last start.  Through 7.1 innings of work, Salazar gave up just a run on 5 hits. He struck out 9 while walking just 1.  When Salazar has been good in recent weeks, he gets results. But other starts have been disastrous and that’s why he is 4 - 3 in his last 10 appearances.  Last season, Salazar posted a record of 2 -3 with a 3.12 ERA in 10 starts.

Salazar took the loss in his only start against the Royals in 2013.   This season, he is 2 -1 in 3 encounters against the Royals.
