Yordano Ventura (14-10) will attempt to win his second consecutive game for the Kansas City Royals on Sunday afternoon when they face rookie right-hander Chris Bassitt (1-1) and the Chicago White Sox.

On Tuesday, Yordano Ventura pitched seven scoreless innings against the Cleveland Indians on the road and picked up his 14th win of the year in the process. He gave up just four hits in that game and walked four batters while striking out six. Ventura now has a 3.07 ERA and he has struck out 153 hitters in 179 innings of work.

White Sox catcher Tyler Flowers has two hits in four at-bats against Ventura in his career with a solo home run and no strikeouts. Shortstop Alexei Ramirez is 1-for-6 against him with no walks and two strikeouts.

Chris Bassitt was able to pick up the first win of his career on Monday when he beat the Detroit Tigers on the road. He pitched 7.2 scoreless innings in that outing and walked one batter while striking out three. The right-hander lowered his ERA to 3.65 with that win and he has struck out 16 batters in his 24.2 innings on the mound.

Royals outfielder Alex Gordon has one hit in two at-bats against Bassitt with a single and two RBI. None of the Royals' hitters have faced Bassitt more than three times in their careers.
