Danny Duffy will be looking to end his current two-game losing streak when he takes the mound for the Kansas City Royals on Saturday night against Rubby De La Rosa and the Boston Red Sox.

Danny Duffy pitched pretty well against the Detroit Tigers in his last start, but he ended up taking the loss after getting just one run from his offense. He gave up just two runs (one earned) in six innings of work that day while striking out six batters and walking no one. Duffy now has a 5-9 record on the year, but his excellent 2.76 ERA suggests that he deserves at least a couple more wins.

Red Sox veteran Mike Napoli has two hits in his three at-bats versus Duffy with a double, a home run and two RBI. Second baseman Dustin Pedroia is 3-for-7 against him with a double, a triple and three RBI.

Rubby De La Rosa ended up with a no decision in his last start after giving up three runs in five innings of work against the Boston Red Sox. He allowed six hits in that outing and walked no one while striking out three batters. Through six starts, De La Rosa is 2-2 with a very good 2.89 ERA and he has 33 strikeouts in 37.1 innings.

Royals third baseman Danny Valencia is hitless against De La Rosa with one strikeout, while designated hitter Billy Butler is 1-for-1 against him with a solo home run.
