The Rogers Centre will be home to a game on Wednesday night between the Houston Astros and the Toronto Blue Jays. The visiting Astros will send 28-year-old Lucas Harrell to the mound to battle against the Blue Jays’ starter, Brandon Morrow.

Harrell has made 56 starts since joining the Astros after making just three starts as a member of the Chicago White Sox. Harrell had a solid 2012 season with the Astros, going 11-11, but regressed a year ago and went just 6-17 with a 5.86 ERA, which was more than two runs more than the previous season. In limited action against current members of the Blue Jays, Harrell has been roughed up in a big way. The team is hitting .500 against him (12-for-24) and despite not hitting a home run, has a 1.211 OPS. Jose Reyes is 4-for-5 with 3 walks in limited action against Harrell.

At 29, Morrow is now an experienced veteran who holds a 41-41 career record with a 4.24 ERA. In 2012, he showed signs of brilliance at times, but wasn’t able to build on that a year ago as he made just 10 starts. He was roughed up in his debut this season and has faced just two members of the Astros, Dexter Fowler (1-for-2) and Alex Presley (0-for-2).
