Houston Astros left-hander Brett Oberholtzer (5-12) will hope that he can snap his two-game losing streak on Tuesday night when he faces rookie Nick Martinez (4-11) and the Texas Rangers.

Last Wednesday, Brett Oberholtzer pitched 7.2 pretty good innings against the Cleveland Indians, but he still ended up losing that game. He gave up two runs on seven base hits in that start while striking out three batters and walking no one. On the year, Oberholtzer now has a 4.39 ERA and he has given up 10.4 hits per nine innings.

Rangers outfielder Michael Choice has three hits in seven plate appearances against Oberholtzer with a double, a home run and three RBI. Shortstop Elvis Andrus is just 1-for-11 against him with no walks and four strikeouts.

Last week, Nick Martinez pitched 5.2 innings against the Oakland Athletics on the road and ended up picking up the win. He gave up just two runs on three hits in that start and walked three batters while striking out two. Martinez has only been able to strike out 70 batters in 128 innings this year and he now has a 4.85 ERA.

Astros second baseman Jose Altuve is 4-for-7 against Martinez in his career with three doubles and no strikeouts. Designated hitter Chris Carter has no hits in six at-bats against him with a walk and two strikeouts.
