23-year-old starter Jarred Cosart will be pitching for the Houston Astros on Friday when they go up against Roenis Elias and the Seattle Mariners.

In his start against the Chicago White Sox last week, right-hander Jarred Cosart was able to pick up his third win of the season, though it wasn't a very strong start. He went five innings in that game and gave up three earned runs on seven hits while walking four and striking out two. He is now 3-3 on the year with a 4.41 ERA.

Kyle Seager has faced Cosart six times in his career and is 1-for-2 with a home run, two RBI and four walks. Shortstop Brad Miller is 0-for-6 against him with two strikeouts.

Roenis Elias was able to get through seven innings in his outing against the Minnesota Twins last weekend, but he ended up taking his third loss of the season. He gave up four earned runs in that start on six hits while walking one and striking out four. Elias has a decent 3.88 ERA on the year, but he has walked 21 batters in 53.1 innings of work.

No one on the Astros has gone up against Elias yet. They can expect to see him throw his 92-93 mph fastball about 55 percent of the time, while also working in his 79 mph curveball and his 86 mph changeup.
