Big right-hander Scott Feldman (6-9) will try to win his third game in four starts when he and the Houston Astros face Michael Pineda (2-2) and the New York Yankees on Wednesday night.

Last Thursday, Scott Feldman pitched 5.1 innings against the Boston Red Sox on the road and ended up taking the loss. He allowed seven earned runs on nine base hits in that game while walking two and striking out one. He has given up 144 hits in 129.1 innings for the Astros this year and he now has a 4.45 ERA.

Yankees shortstop Derek Jeter has six hits in 22 at-bats against Feldman in his career with two home runs and four RBI. Brendan Ryan is just 1-for-8 against him with no walks and two strikeouts.

Michael Pineda made his first start since the beginnings of the season last Wednesday and did well against the Baltimore Orioles in what ended up being a no decision for him. He pitched five innings in that game and gave up just one run on two base hits while striking out four and walking zero. Through five starts this year, Pineda has a 1.82 ERA and he has only walked three batters in 24.2 innings.

Astros designated hitter Chris Carter is 0-of-1 against Pineda with a walk and a strikeout. None of the other Astros have had the chance to face the right-hander yet.
