Right-hander Samuel Deduno (2-6) will be making his first start for the Houston Astros on Saturday night and will be going up against New York Mets starter Rafael Montero (1-3).

Samuel Deduno hasn't made a start since back in June when he took the loss after giving up seven runs in just 2.2 innings against the Detroit Tigers. Since then, he has pitched 39.1 innings out of the bullpen and he has struck out 38 batters in that time with a 3.66 ERA. Overall this season, he has a 4.66 ERA and he has given up 95 hits in 96.2 innings.

Mets outfielder Curtis Granderson is 0-for-1 against Deduno in his career with no walks. All of the other Mets will be facing him for the first time on Saturday night.

Rookie right-hander Rafael Montero last made a start for the Mets back on September 10 when he picked up the win over the Colorado Rockies. He pitched 5.1 scoreless innings in that start and walked four batters while striking out seven. Montero has struck out 36 batters in 39 innings this year and he now has a 4.38 ERA.

Montero will be getting his first chance to face the Astros this weekend. So far this season, he has held right-handed batters to a .232 batting average, and left-handed batters are hitting .272 against him with a .895 OPS.
