Right-hander Brad Peacock (4-9), who has a 2.45 ERA in three starts this month, will take the mound for the Houston Astros on Friday night when they face Jonathon Niese (9-11) and the New York Mets.

Last Friday, Brad Peacock gave up seven runs (two earned) on 3.1 innings of work against the Seattle Mariners and took the loss. He allowed six hits in that game and walked four batters while striking out two. Peacock now has a 4.82 ERA on the season and he has been able to strike out 112 batters in 127 innings.

Mets shortstop Ruben Tejada has one hit in three plate appearances against Peacock in his career with a single and no strikeouts. None of the other Mets have faced the right-hander more than two times.

Left-hander Jonathon Niese had a strong outing against the Atlanta Braves on the road and picked up his ninth win of the year. He went seven innings in that start and gave up two runs on seven hits while walking one batter and striking out five. Niese has only walked 2.2 batters per nine innings this season and now has a 3.50 ERA.

Rockies outfielder Dexter Fowler is just 1-for-9 against Niese in his career with no walks and no strikeouts. First baseman Jesus Guzman is 2-for-9 against him with two walks and four strikeouts.
