On Friday night, Dallas Keuchel (10-8) will try to pick up his first win of August when he and the Houston Astros go up against Clay Buchholz (5-7) and the Boston Red Sox.

On Sunday, Dallas Keuchel gave up five runs in six innings to the Texas Rangers and ended up with the loss. He allowed six hits in that outing and struck out four batters while walking three. He now has a 3.07 ERA on the season and he has only given up a total of nine home runs in 149.1 innings of work.

Red Sox new outfielder Yoenis Cespedes has had more at-bats against Keuchel than any of his teammates and is 5-for-10 against him with a double and two strikeouts. David Ortiz is 1-for-1 against him with an RBI.

Right-hander Clay Buchholz pitched eight innings against the Los Angeles Angels on the road last weekend and ended up with a no decision. He gave up three runs on six base hits in that outing while walking two batters and striking out eight. He still has a very high 5.99 ERA on the season and he has given up 132 hits in 109.2 innings.

Astros catcher Jason Castro has two hits in five at-bats against Buchholz in his career with a walk and an RBI. All-Star Jose Altuve is just 1-for-8 against him with no walks and three strikeouts.
